1965 Ford Mustang GT

This Mustang was an original GT that came with a 289 4v 3 speed and had the pony interior package. The color was Twilight Turquoise with black interior. John and Dianne, of Corvallis, OR, purchased this car in 2002 and drove it for a short time before beginning a full restoration. The Mustang was completely disassembled for sandblasting and body work. As assembly began, the owners decided they wanted to make the Mustang a Resto-Rod. Using creativity and original ideas, this Mustang turned out beautifully.
The entire car was sandblasted. We performed some minor body work, but due to the dry climate of Boise, ID, where this car spent most of its life, there wasn't much rust damage.
We Arma-coated the entire underneath of the car and the inside of the car to protect it from damage and corrosion, and also for sound deadening.
Assembly begins- doors, fenders, glass, etc., and all the neccesary equipment to make ths project turn key. All Northwest Autofab projects are painted in pieces then assembled very carefully.
Interior equipment includes- JME Enterprises all billet aluminum gauge cluster with auto meter gauges, Flaming River tilt column, Kenwood sound system, and custom interior by Vic at Chucks Upholstery.
To help keep the car on the road, the frontend was rebuilt with total control products. Big sway bars, sub frame connectors, shock tower brace kit, and a Ron Morris performance firewall reinforcement kit.
Running gear was installed by So Fast. 302 C.I. Ford with trick flow heads and intake, Powerdyne supercharger, MSD Ign, BBK Throttle body, Speed pro pistons, etc. Very Fast. It also has a Ford T-5 transmission, Ford 9" rearend with 3.73 Posi. To keep it cool a four row griffen aluminum radiator with two summit electric fans. To help it flow TBA shorty headers were installed with DR. gas exhaust, crossover tubes, and hooker aero mufflers. Wheels are Crager 17x8 with 245-45-17 Goodyear Eagles.
